INVENTIONS AND RAPID PROTOTYPING

We are capable of inventing, designing, prototyping and starting the process to getting new components and inventions into the mass production phase. From a sketch on the back of an envelope, we can take it all the way to being ready to demonstrate to investors. I implore any budding inventor who is interested in bringing their idea to market and wants a designer and rapid prototype design engineer to contact me. I personally have over 14 years experience with CAD and have associates with even more experience who are brought in for very complex projects. The process to bring a new product to manufacture may seem daunting, but we always ensure we are sticking to the right path.

I am extremely honest, upfront and customer focused where I will always keep you informed of future time frames and costs. Even from the very beginning of the process, I can provide estimated for all stages late in the process so you always know what you are expecting. Product development in the past has often been avoided by individuals because of the ‘rabbit hole’ of costs that individuals may spend on a project before finding out the next steps are even more expensive, leading to a sunk costs situation. I ensure that will not happen with my process, there are never any surprises and you can efficiently plan ahead. With crowdfunding as an ever-present solution to funding the tooling, we can assist there too in marketing your product.

During this process, you may wish to investigate patenting your design. I can assist in this process, having authored numerous patents in the past. The patent process seems daunting and expensive but we can keep it simple and extremely affordable through approaching it step-by-step, instead of going for full patents right from the start. You may find your invention will evolve numerous times in a short period after you first hold it in your hand, so we keep patent costs down significantly until the time is right, if you wish, to seek a full patent. Full patents are always handled by patent attorneys but when we can provide them with a patent that is >95% complete, that will keep the costs of a full patent down a significant amount.

Almost all of our works regarding new inventions are commercial in confidence so we can not share many pictures of them, we have worked on hundreds of new prototypes.

Immediate notice modification discount

3DP&M offer an ‘Immediate notice modification discount’ of 50% off the printing costs for a 3D print. This discount does not apply to CAD packages, laser cutting, resume writing or any other service besides 3D printing. In the event of a 3D print not functioning as intended due to a design oversight, the customer is entitled to inform 3DP&M within 24 hours of receiving the part, of the desired changes, in order to be eligible for a reprint of the prototype with a 50% discount. 3DP&M reserve all rights to determine if a requested modification is eligible for the discount. Different versions of the same product which feature deliberate differences are not eligible, the discount explicitly applies to the original model with modifications made after receiving the product, in order to suit the original purpose. The offer does not apply to multiple copies of the same file.
